"There are 47 rural counties in the state of New York. On April 14th & 15th, the rural committees of the Democratic party will convene in Saratoga for the 2023 DRC "Building the Bench" Convention. It's an opportunity to network, attend training, and hear from state-wide elected officials. The DRC is committed to the purpose of representing the interests and concerns of rural New Yorkers. The DRC fulfills this purpose by enabling rural Democrats to join together to speak on behalf of rural people's concerns, compel candidates and elected officials to address the concerns of rural people; and build and strengthen the Democratic Party throughout rural New York. The DRC strives to achieve electoral success as a means to achieve the goal of enhancing the economic prosperity and quality of life of rural New Yorkers. After a month of hitting the streets petitioning, we look for [St. Lawrence] County representatives to return energized and laser-focused with strategies, tools, and resources to help us win this year's local elections."
