The St. Lawrence County Democrats' "Elevate the Conversation" received positive feedback last week for its first presentation by former editor of the Glens Falls Post-Star, Ken Tingley. About 35 people attended and shared thoughtful questions at the end.
Tom Graser from the Watertown Daily Times covered the event, Former editor helps launch conversation series on Potsdam, as did Jimmy Lawton from North Country Now, People don't realize what they've lost when newspapers die, retired editor tells Potsdam audience.
Speaker Ken Tingley and SLC Democrats chair Mike Zagrobelny
"Tingley’s presentation seemed to resonate with those in attendance and that was the goal, according to Zagrobelny. He remains hopeful that the "Elevate the Conversation" series will grow and is asking St. Lawrence County residents to help make that happen. As for now he hopes St. Lawrence County residents will help shape the series by sharing what topics should be addressed and what speakers they might be interested in hearing. Those interested can email suggestions to slcnydems@gmail.com or call 315-244-5233." --Jimmy Lawton
The series is open to the public, and all are welcome, regardless of party affiliation.
