Many of you in St. Lawrence County and beyond stepped forward during the 2024 campaign season to say you wanted to help, to be more involved. While the national election’s outcome was not what we wished for, you helped pass Proposal 1 in New York, enshrining equal rights for all New Yorkers into our state constitution. Thank you.
As you know, the New York State Governor will be calling for a special election in New York’s 21st Congressional District once Rep. Elise Stefanik resigns from Congress, and at that time, the 15 Democratic Committee County Chairs will be selecting a Democratic nominee to run. While no official actions can be taken before the announcement, rest assured discussions are already occurring.
There will be no primary for this election, and yet we want you to have a voice. Please let us know the qualities you seek in a Democratic candidate via this survey. Results will help inform the final decision on a nominee.
